Granted our childhoods affect our lives, but at some point, you have to own your own behavior. Darcey is a jerk, a jealous jerk!
Darcy is so envious it’s painful to witness.
Dr. Kirk Honda, can you do a segment on parentified children? Thank you.
Funny how a woman who looks and talks like a pornstar criticizes her sister’s wedding dress that looks like any other trendy wedding dress (not saying that’s a good thing). Just funny to watch.
Poor Stacey you can see her voice raise as she is defending herself.
Dr. Kirk: saying that when a bride shows you her wedding dress, you’re supposed to automatically say all the words and be supportive.
Me: thinking “You haven’t seen any episodes of Say Yes To The Dress, have you?” Because sometimes the entourage that the brides bring with them when they go wedding dress shopping can be pretty brutal.
I can't believe she is going on about the dress. Wow
4:16 wtf “It’s not appropriate”?!!
Darcey is tripping, she’s carrying on as if Staceys naked in that dress!!!Though wonder Stacey went alone to look for her wedding dress….
Excellent breakdown of this scene between the sisters. I want to root for both of them, though it’s hard not to cringe at Darcey’s behavior. She is clearly struggling with major jealousy and insecurity issues from having to watch her twin get married and live the dream that she’s been building up in her head for so long. She’s always cared more about getting engaged as soon as possible and having a big wedding and a younger guy on her arm. She prioritizes the circus of getting engaged and married over actually finding someone she’ll be happy with for the rest of her life. Sad.
Darcy’s definitely has the traits of getting triggered by someone else’s success, happiness, or advancements because she hasn’t done it herself or it didn’t work out for her. She can’t just be genuinely happy because the pain is still lingering/a bother about herself and she projects those feelings onto others. 🤦🏽♀️
It's uncle Nic Nac from the Adams family!
I feel like Darcey is trying to distract from Stacey's wedding because she, Darcey, always needs to be the center of attention.
The negativity she displayed towards her sister was so disappointing ): she was probably so excited to show her sister her dress. My little brothers are twins and they are each others biggest supporters. I just dont understand this dynamic.
do the p2 paris hilton!
Dr Honda has clearly never seen Say Yes to the Dress
Doctor H drop that science podcast list asap
Dr. Kirk did you take into account that sometimes people from the East Coast are just more blunt with each other.
Sometimes families who hide their opinions do more harm to each other because how can you actually trust them.
Here to learn from all the speculation!!
Twins are always in competition with each other it has nothing to do with the parents gave them enough attention. It could be attention from the teacher or friends. one twin could be better at socializing. It’s a constant competition with somebody who looks identical to you.
anyone else feel it was kinda nice to see the dad say he was already proud of the twins?
Darcey isn’t soooo childish!!! Her daughters are the adults in their relationship. Poor Darcey…
Stacy and dad are relieved! Stacy was unsure and dad didnt want them to go nor invest again.
Two requests. You must, MUST watch the Family Chantal. Must. Also, I am an adult with ADHD (recently diagnosed and I am a grandma). Can you do a podcast or video on Rejection Sensitivity please. Thank you you are great!
I’m guessing this was filmed towards the end of February into March
It’s time to continue our journey with Dr Honda. 😊
I also thought that Darcey could use a good 12 step program.
I really hoped you would provide some insight into how the conversation between Darcy, Stacy and their father played out.
Should Darcy still overtly need and want her fathers approval, is her request an admission she feels she’s never had it? Are the fathers comments about already being proud as slightly dismissive or do you get the feeling he’s kind of tired of having to provide approval…. And just what do you make that hug between D & S at the end? Is it a sign of love & affection or do you feel it’s more than likely a case of playing out their established roles in front of their father?!?
Dr. Honda, I just want to say I, and us all watching, really, really appreciate your insight. I know you've helped me, and many others. There's definitely no replacement for therapy, however, I love that you put a certain drive in us/others to seek therapy. Thanks for everything, and for all of the uploads.
If Dr. Honda is shocked by this, he needs to watch Yes to the Dress 😂
Jesus Christ, the dress is already purchased. Giving her negitive critique will do absolutely nothing because it's not like Stacy can just return the dress. What's she supposed to do, fly back to Albania, return to dress and then purchase one that Darcey likes? Darcy is really just being bratty right now. Love Darcy so much but girl chill, let your sister enjoy her dress.
Darcey and Stacey are a train wreck… those chicks are a complete disaster
dr kirk!! you should really react to "The Twin Life Supertrailer" bc it actually proves a lot of your speculations to be true! (even has a snippet of the mom saying that stacy is more like their brother and then adding "darcey is darcey")
The Dad did imply that Darcy was the emotional dramatic one from memory in an earlier episode- I'd wonder if he didn't get her and found Stacy easier / more predictable and that's how the differing treatment began. Or if Stacy realised watching Darcy that being emotional got Dad's disrespect💔
I feel like people are not understanding Darcey at all. She is not more jelous or needy than Stacey, she is just more authentic and straight forward about it. Stacey has the same issues but pretends like Darcey is the problem to feel superior. Just as in he relationship with Florian… She has been, for years now, pretending like the relationship is healthy and Darcey is the emotional wreck one… And now we can see that Florian is an ass and their relationship sucks. No wonder Darcey has to be vocal about her emotions, her sister is constantly putting her down and gaslighting her as if she was the problem! At least Darcey's issues are honest and authentic. Stacey is just sneaky and manipulative on top of everything else.
WHY AM I ABLE TO REFLECT MY LIFE ON TO EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN PEOPLE DR KIRK ANALYSE ABOUT!?!?!?!?!?
My sister just asked me if id seen Dr.Kirks new "Dacey and Starcey" video…
I wonder if a lot of Darcey's feelings about things Stacey does come from a fear of being left alone. Some of her behavior reminds me of the way I've been known to cling to people out of the same fear and it could be why she gets negative about Stacey's success in life and in relationships because it feels like those things might steal Stacey from her and leave her all alone. It could also be why she's kind of bulldozing Stacey into this business venture, because it's a way to keep Stacey close. Darcey may feel a little less of that stress when she's in a relationship and that could also be part of why she clings so hard to relationships. It's all a fear of being alone.
This makes me wonder if it's not that they competed or were antagonistic as kids, but possibly the opposite. It may be that Darcey feels that Stacey is the only person she has and is absolutely terrified of anything that might pull Stacey away.
