Very important studies to share, this can relate to occupations other than police officers, too. Great stuff.

Very interesting. I never thought about it that way. I suspect it's true for other high stress jobs. My question is: What if home really is the"bad place"?

Great video minus joe talking about all this money officers can make. Large metropolitan cities have almost unlimited overtime. Majority of agencies have little to no OT. Many officers leave smaller agencies and go to big cities so that they can make more OT.

Not to mention the horribly negative effect of working night shifts…..for years and years on end. Going against human nature's natural circadian rythym……
I'm sure it causes brain damage.

Joe I am a fan of yours and I enjoy watching your shows and I will continue to do so.. and I just recently found out you endorse Bernie Sanders… And you just got a major contract worth millions because of your talents.. and now you're moving to Texas from California so you won't get hit so hard on the taxes… Under Bernie Sanders rule (socialist Communist) you would be paid minimum wage, mainly because you're not a contributor to humanity or the big machine.. you're just a glorified radio personality…you are getting paid millions because you've harnessed your talents under capitalism just like Oprah Winfrey.. under socialist or communist rule that Bernie Sanders wishes to enforce.. I doubt you'll get such paychecks.

Poor cops. Must be so hard for them. They just put out a list of the top ten worst cops in New York by abuse complaints along with salaries and years on the force. They all make over 150,000 a year. I don't feel sorry for rich racist bullies.

Joe is missing a lot with his argument and perspective. The Work environment is toxic within the union. Cops have to conform or they have a lot of trouble from within the ranks of the union. By conforming I mean they have to become corrupt to keep their jobs and all that gravy overtime. Whether it be shutting their mouths if they see something unjust internally or outright lying about it to just turning a blind eye. The union's themselves are corrupt donating sometimes millions of dollars to various political campaigns in order to get long rope and lots of tax payer funds. The whole system has become rotten and a good person with principles and integrity can't be that person and remain a cop in the work environment that has evolved. They will be harassed until they conform and capitulate or they will be fired or forced to leave. They are indoctrinated into the brotherhood of police as it were.
But fundamentally the root cause of all the problems are just this: The city's and their politicians(that have oversight of the police) top prioritys are 1) to avoid financial liablility and 2) avoid bad press period. This is mandated to the police. This is why the police are almost never convicted because they never do anything wrong. At least this is the narrative both the politicians and police want you(the public) to believe in order to fulfill the top two priority's. This is where all the injustice comes from. This is how the really bad cops get to where they are. Everyone who wants to be a cop is indoctrinated and their pscycology is changed to conform to this. Most of them are young recruits and some become radicalized into this state of hyper loyalty which makes them do stupid stuff to be recognized as a solid brother or sister to their piers within the union. This is just one way their psychology is changed. Don't ask a psychologist especially a police pscychologist. If they had any real idea(which they don't until they are told) they would't tell.

Its the turning on/off of the "cop mentally" attitudes. I asked my dad (an attorney) a legal question over dinner. He said to re-ask him tomorrow that he's off work. That's how officers and others need to separate their life. Very hard to do.

It would be a great idea on not hiring mostly military vets to be police officers, they have Alot of built up anger, stress,PTSD and that triggers their savage actions on the force….

Well to be a cop, all you need to qualify is a high school equivalency diploma. So it's not pressure, it's just idiots in blue running around to be alert? Yeah because cops are targets after killing innocent people so they're really doing it to themselves. LMAO I'm kidding, except for the equivalency thing.

You can see how many lefties watch Joe just by seeing how many views there are on the police vs anything else.

She mentioned at the end how one's intentions on why one is working overtime are so important, because they really are. She is an incredibly mentally astute lady.

The neighborhoods that cause this were and still are purposely designed to be dens of suffering… So that breeds violence and crime… But everyone knows that… Especially those that created them… Also there are generations of ppl that are forced to live in these places out of necessity… And they grow up in these conditions… And that's why those ppl have shorter life spans… But ppl are somehow not concerned with those ppl… But are concerned with the ppl that CHOOSE to work in these places. And it's maddening.

Sounds like a good scheduling approach might help with this. Instead of having typical 5x8hr days, do 4x10hr days with a 24hr day in between each working day. (A blend of firefighter and regular work schedule.) That should provide enough consecutive down time to re-balance again before going back out.
