That is… Assuming Conscience originates in the brain and that the brain is not the result/effect of it.
There is still so much we do not know, get excited.

If a "Sudo-Scientific" Work has utilized the same principles shown on this video, then it is not as fake as you might be expected to believe.

Also remember that people are biased in both ends of the spectrum, attached to a dogma is the first indicator.

Race studies was a “science” just like psych it is a “science”

If you want to call psych a science it isn’t like a hard science like physics. Sociology psych etc is a soft “science”. This video couldn’t be anymore wrong. Oh yeah and Freud prescribed cocaine for patients.

when you do an experiment you have to produce the same results over and over and over and over again for it to be a scientific discovery with psychology you will not get the same results over and over and over again it's a pseudoscience.

I think you should look at collaborative therapy, which rejects one of the fundamental principles of science (aka theory) or 12-Step programs, which have anywhere between a 5% and 40% success rate and tell me whether you still feel like psychology is a science.

Psychology is not a science. Also his definition of science does not apply to math and he is also has no idea about Physics. In fact most physics discoveries happen through mathematics and not through observation.

“Psychology” could refer to psychodynamic/psychoanalytic (ex. Freud) or radical behaviorism (ex. Skinner) which are vastly different (the latter being far more empirical).

Parts of psychology might be (sort of) science, psychiatry definitely isn't . For example, there's no real evidence that certain neurotransmitters cause certain behaviours. In other words, if you want to 'diagnose' someone with a 'disease', where's your supporting evidence?

Go to 10 different psychologists with the same problem and end up with 10 different results. –> DEBUNKED. THE END

Sorry but you can only establish psycholgy as a science by redefining science – psychology can never be science on the same premise that biology, mathematics and physics is science. Psychology can never meet the standards that defines those fields as science.

Psychology is definitely not a science at all. That's like saying law is a science lol. The dsm was made by a bunch of self appointed men, that decided to write a bunch of garbage down that can't be reproduced, to make them selves rich and famous. The only people who support this nonsense are people who gain from it. The patient gains in their own way, but never cured, and the evil almost religious self appointed dsm worshippers gain huge financial freedom. While even influencing law and punishment the very foundation of our society.

There is no debate it isn't science, you benefit some way telling us it is a science. Not sure what it is, it is either you gain emotional or material from it.

NOT …. I have a PhD in chemistry. I've done research for a long time. Psychology is too subjective, too much ambiguity. It is not a science. I could show this to any psychologist willing to have a half an hour talk. I am sure that within a few minutes I can prove what I am stating.

The fact that phycologists use scientific methods doesn't mean that their results are scientifically accurate. Psychology will be a science "just like biology, chemistry or particle physics" the day psychologists will have a ruler not able to lie! Don't get me wrong, I believe psychology will be a science thanks to the effort of today's psychologists but they are not there yet and pretending they are gives credit to charlatans and penalize the good psychologists that are actually trying to make Psychology a science.

Wouldn't results in neuroscience be considered part of a validation of psychological hypothesis? Doesn't psychology work in union with neuroscience to define scientific facts of our minds?

  35. Avatar

Yes it is a science but a lot of it is very bias when taught
