J. Krishnamurti – Ojai 1982 – Discussion with Scientists 2 – Psychological suffering

Summary:

What is security?

I have an image about myself. I am a great cook, a great scientist, a great carpenter, whatever you will. I have got that picture in myself and you come along and put a pin into it. And that gets hurt, the image gets hurt. The image is me.

What is a human being?

You are not basically different from me. You may be tall, you may be born in England, I may be born in Africa, I have dark skin, but deep down, the river, the content of the river is the water. The river is not an Asiatic river or European river, it is a river.
Love is not English, American or Indian. Agony is not yours or mine, it is agony. But we identify ourselves with agony – it is my agony, which is not yours. Why do we want to identify with something?

Is there a learning about oneself which is not constant accumulation about myself?

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.

The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, ’The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities… nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.’

We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti’s original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.

Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

Falsch.

He says such great and deep things, seems to know how to dissolve anger and violence completely but then I don't understand why there is so much aggression in the way he talks. He stresses words so much, it seems totally aggressive like he is so frustrated that people don't get what he's saying. If he has succeeded in dissolving aggression within himself, why doesn't his speech sound kind and loving? Why does he always cut in when others are talking? Why doesn't he have an air of peace and contentment?

I have never identified my self with no nation, race, or religion since my 12 of age. I can clearly say that's the reason people see me as weird or "different", but I can freely say, it never bothered me.

The Human mind is illogical and too egotistical when it comes to what others may think or say of us. Their comment will be hurtful even if it may not be true. We are too emotional. We can't handle the truth. We can't even handle what is not true.

Shouldn't we be laughing at them if they're wrong? If it's true then we should be thanking them for correcting us.

I just listened to the words at 4:02 "memory produces fear, anger etc."
well, this is wrong: the EGO produces fear and the like … not the memory
HOWEVER ONLY PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW ABSOLUTELY DISCUSS AND DISCUSS … those who have the all-penetrating-wisdom-power or omniscience
do not need to discuss … he knows in front of him are only academics not capable of going beyond their thinking
when academics discuss they feel the are some precious … like I think therefore I am

A great talker. But talking does not take you anywhere. Why did he accept the comment or did not disagree when the interviewer says jk as a religious philosopher. He says no religion , nothing nothing and just don’t care the Mahatmans. I don’t know just asked as I too am a seeker. Other religions says believe and then study but upanishad says study and then believe and I like upanishads
