    Ya know, a lot of these would have made me a) not do what ever they want me to do and b) lose more of my self confidence then I already did then.

    The one about mowing the lawn, that works. Give a kid two choices instead of many or none. Works better

    My parents would call turkey thanksgiving chicken apparently me and my twin would happily eat it. Kids are so dumb

    My dad also occasionally will make me and my siblings fill bad for not doing something, but we are lazy fucks who prefer to just take the guilt rather than do the chore.

    This is why I have severe trust issues, my parents took this a step further and used it to manipulate me instead of teaching me

    I don’t know if this counts but my parents would serve the vegetables about 5 minutes before the rest of the food so we suffered for 5 minutes or ate the vegetables. Parents, try this if your kids don’t eat there veggies.

    My mum used the ice cream trick. Now when she wants an ice cream I tell her that there’s non there as it’s ran out lol.

    I gave my friend a really good book for preteens about their bodies & sex, etc. She stuck it in the bookshelf with no comment. It disappeared a week or so later and the kids started learning accurate information about their bodies, sex, birth control, etc.
