Herman Rorschach (no, not the guy from Watchmen) came up with the eponymous tests, but what do they mean? Why are we so fascinated with them despite the division in the world of Psychology? Hank tackles these topics as we take a closer look at personality in this episode of Crash Course Psychology.

The ink blot test, I have seen it on a comedy film from the early 90's called "Problem Child" , the scene with the convict who became friends with Junior the mischievous boy, he says: "I see blood!" Thus modern day psychologists don't take it seriously

rorschach didnt use the ink blots based on what people thought they were, he looked at the processes people used to come to a conclusion regarding what they looked like
it was people after his death who used them in the former way

The second half of the video is way more interesting to me. Maslow – a cool guy. I love the idea of self-actualization and self-transcendence being possible after all the basic needs are met. Rogers – very nice. My favourite thing about his model is that he added genuineness, I respect honest people. But what if the second part of the model (acceptance) contradicts with genuineness? WHat do you do then?
