So many are confused about real psychological self-care! | Dr Sia
My name is Dr Sia and I am a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, and associate professor at Griffith University. In this video, I talk about psychological self-care, a psychological concept that is grossly misunderstood by many! Here I explain what psychological self-care is according to psychological science and the three components of self-care and what you can do to self-care. As per usual, I hope you like, subscribe, and comment!

Thank you to Susan who pointed out the typo at the 4th minute. It is meant to say psychological self-care is made up of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral self-care.
Good video! Attention grabbing with something you really want to say! Great!
Boom! Totally Rad video! Loved it, I have had similar rants with friends.
Really enjoying the videos Sia!
Such a great video and such an important topic to address!! Looking forward to more videos on this topic 🙂
I completely agree with this. Great video Dr Sia well said
I love this video!
Great video, more people should see this!
Boy do I need this I suffer from extreme anxiety and I always find myself being bogged down with so much stuff and forget about myself, i tried mediation and just can't do it.
Interesting topic, love to hear more!
I totally agree! I often find that people view self-care as just treating yourself, but I think that they can be different things. Psychological self-care can sometimes be hard work, just like looking after your body can be hard, but in the long term it makes you feel better
What a helpful, inspiring video! So informative and enjoyable to watch, love the energy!! I have a question about the cognitive aspect of self-care; what happens if that person on the treadmill is trying to have positive thoughts about them self, but they can't quite manage to believe the positive self talk? Is it a matter of fake it until you make it? Practice makes perfect? Or do deeper issues need to be addressed?
